About the Tutoring Bee:
We are a tutoring company that specializes in Pre-K to 12th grade private tutoring sessions, covering academics, study habits, and principles of self-regulated learning. Our mission is to help students find the confidence in themselves to achieve their full potential in all areas of education and life.
The Tutoring Bee realizes that it takes a village to help raise families, and we look forward to becoming a part of your village. We help students learn how to stay on track with their schoolwork, while finding their own independence and success.
Our tutoring coaches implement various strategies that cater to each student's learning preferences, while also utilizing their talents and skills to help strengthen their areas of weakness. Strategies include understanding academic subjects as well as teaching various executive function skills such as organization, planning, and time management.
COVID-19: Please note, due to the current pandemic, we are offering coaching sessions online via Zoom in addition to in-person home based tutoring. For in-person learning, we request that all household members in the tutoring space wear a mask during sessions.
About the Founder:
Jennifer Heinz is an Education and Event Planning professional based in Los Angeles, California.
As a young student, Jennifer experienced firsthand the difference that an exceptional tutor could make. The connections she made with her tutors not only instilled in her a love of learning, but also gave her valuable study and life skills that she one day wanted to share with future students.
She chose her undergraduate work in Educational Studies with Dual Minors in Leadership & Psychology at Chapman University to help make an impact on the education space, while still making time to share her tutoring love and expertise with some of her earliest clients. She then pursued and completed her MBA while simultaneously working full-time as an Event Planner.
2020 has made event planning look a little different, but Jennifer did not let a pandemic prevent her from making a difference. She utilized her time to help her students succeed in the academic events that matter most to them right now.
What has always driven Jennifer is helping people achieve their visions and dreams. Whether it is delivering a beautiful Quinceanera after years in the making, or helping her students finally ace a test in their most challenging subject, she is there to listen to and partner with her clients every step of the way. She is thrilled to use her passion and expertise to help bring her customers across their finish line.

We hired Jennifer from The Tutoring Bee in February of 2021. I have to say I see such an improvement with both my kids Jordan and Ava. I hired her primarily because of Covid and school closures; kids had been off school. Both my husband and I have advanced academic qualifications, but when teaching little toddlers, you have to allow the experts like Jennifer to do their magic. Jennifer has done an excellent job keeping both kids engaged and motivated during their tutoring sessions; she is super organized and has a plan before each lesson. I love that she gives me a comprehensive report after each class and keeps us in the loop. She has splendid tactics in teaching kids phonics, reading, and math. I highly recommend Jennifer, and we are so happy to have found her.

My boys have truly enjoyed working with Jennifer in every moment of her tutoring. She genuinely has cared about their growth and understanding of all curriculum. Checking in on their quizzes and regularly keeping track of their assignments and grades, she would even send them reminders, ensuring that they had studied for their exam or had completed a project as their due date was fast approaching. She used some great learning techniques such as flash cards, mnemonic devices, and organizational tips to help them not only pass classes but also move up letter grades.
